How to Remove Plus Network Browser Hijacker And optmz.online Redirect Virus Using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Chrome/Firefox)

Problem

A search engine called “Plus Network” hijacked my searches. I am sure I did not install this software/add-on. However, somehow it infected my computer. At the same time, I detected another browser redirect virus “optmz.online”. “optmz.online” automatically redirect me to online stores such as Amazon, Alibaba, eBay, Flipkart, without clicking any button. How I remove this annoying search engine and browser redirect virus from my PC?

Step by step guide to removing Plus Network browser hijacker and optmz.online redirect virus

The Plus network browser hijacker is similar to the Yahoo browser hijacker.  You can check it here how to remove yahoo browser hijacker using Zemana Anti-Malware. However in my experience, Zemana Anti-Malware cannot detect both plus network and optmz.online (as on Nov 2016). So I have to try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it is successful. Here is the step by step guide to removing the Plus Network and optmz.online using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

1. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from this link

 
2. Once downloaded install Malwarebytes.

3. Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and click “Scan Now”. Be patient; it will take a while to check and update its Database.

4. Once Database updated it start scanning. It scans registry, start-up files, memory, etc. and finally, there is Heuristic analysis.

5 The results will appear. It shows the detected files/ setup. Select all of them and click “Remove Selected.”

6. You are successfully removed “detected threat”. You can save result if you need, for further review. It is better to restart the system.
